THERE'S AN APP (OR WEBSITE, OR SOFTWARE, OR...) FOR THAT: INTEGRATING VARIOUS TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR COMPOSING NON-TRADITIONAL TEXTS IN SECONDARY CLASSROOMS
In this presentation, we consider two different technological tools that can be used for composing non-traditional texts in secondary classrooms. Specifically, we look how Weebly can be used a tool for composing multimodal blogs and webpages, and how Pixton can be used to design digital comics. We address the affordances and limitations of both tools for composing these multimodal texts, as well as the skills that students can develop through their use. Additionally, we provide several resources.
