Award for Innovative School Design

July 3, 2016

During the Fall 2015 semester, myself and one other ASU Learning, Literacies, and Technologies doctoral student, Earl Aguilera, participated in a course called Designing Learning Environments. The goal of this course was to pair education doctoral students with interior architecture masters students in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts for the purpose of designing the school of the future. Earl's team has gone on to participate in an international competition for innovate school and curriculum design. My team submitted our design for the International Interior Design Association South West student awards, and we won! Thank you to Jen, Bailu, and Travis for all their hard work and innovative thinking. Working with you was a wonderful experience that taught me a lot about working with an interdisciplinary team. I look forward to collaborating with all of you in the future.
