Starting June 1st, I will be teaching an 8-week course for teens on making comics at the Tempe Public Library. If you are interested in participating, please, register here.
This course will focus on design features and principles of graphic novels, as well as how to apply these features and principles to the making of comics.
This course is part of a research study I am conducting. As part of this research study, I will be exploring how students utilize design features they have been taught when creating their own comic books. I seek to extend existing research conducted by Sylvia Pantaleo who has considered how elementary school students have utilized design features when creating primarily visual texts in the classroom.
To participate, you must be between the ages of 16 and 20 per library restrictions.
