Arizona State University Spring Research Forum

In this poster presentation, Earl Aguilera and I share initial findings from a content analysis of a children’s picturebook, a picturebook app, an augmented reality app, and a short-animated film. We explore how the presentation of one narrative across these varied platforms realizes narrative in different ways and creates unique meaning making experiences. This presentation is the forerunner to my Film Analysis as a Tool for Multimodal Understanding presentation at LRA 2015 and two journal articles.

Unfortunately, the poster is unavailable in png or jpg form, so I cannot display it here. However, if you would like to examine the poster, a pdf copy is available below. Note that during the poster presentation an ipad was positioned in the section labeled "ipad cutout". This ipad streamed the film variant of The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, an Academy Award winning short-animated film. The resulting publications are also available below.
